Why does my puppy have morning diarrhea, gas, and stomach pain?

Hi,my 5 months puppy has diarrhea in the morning, then regular stool in the afternoon. He also has loud noises in his stomach and a lot of stinky flatulence. His appetite is normal but he sometimes is whining between meals just before he farts,like it hurts. Thank you for your help. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 5 months and 11 days old | 30 lbs

Hi and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I am so sorry to hear that Toby has intermittent diarrhea and foul smelling flatulence. I would actually recommend taking Toby to see a veterinarian to determine he does not have intestinal parasites. This is incredibly common in puppies and could be a reason as to why this is happening. If he is negative for parasites, I would evaluate what food you are feeding him and how much/how often you are feeding him. I would recommend any puppy food from Hills, Purina or Royal Canin and feed according to the back of the bag. Good luck!
