Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Male | neutered | 20 lbs
I have a 13 year old Boston Terrier who has never ever had a humping issue at all in his life. In this past year I have woken up to him making humping motions 3 times in his sleep. Should I be concerned? Is this some kind of seizure? This is out of the ordinary for him so I'm desperate to know if I should be alarmed or if this is just natural? Note: For this last year he has been on a steady dose of Cosequin if that makes any difference.

Twitching while asleep is normal for dogs when they enter deep sleep or the REM stage. You may see twitching movements, feet flicking, ears flicking or even hear your dog whine. However, if Mokera is waking up disoriented, seems in distress, or is suddenly appearing to have a seizure instead of just being asleep, having your vet take a look in person is best.
