Is 1000mcg daily thyroid medication too much for my 60kg dog?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | 8 years old | 132 lbs

my dog is under treatment for ? hypothyroidism. he is on 1000mcg daily is it too much for a 60kg dog. he was started on 1000mcg daily for 2 weeks, then the vet asked me to maintain on it

It's not too much but you need to have a blood test done on him every 3 weeks for the first couple months to check if he is getting too much or maybe not getting enough, monitoring of the thyroxin levels is a must especially in early stage of treatment.
