My dog won't eat his new adult food during transition. What can I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 6 months and 8 days old | 50 lbs

My dog isn’t eating his food. We are transitioning to adult food per my vet’s recommendation, but he won’t eat. We’ve tried wetting it, adding a little treat on top but nothing. Anything I should be concerned about?

He probably just doesn't like the taste, try switching it gradually, put 10% of the new food the first day and 90% of the old food, every day increase the new food by 10%, hopefully this will do the trick.
