My cat's claw is ripped out. What should I do for his injury?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 10 lbs

I just noticed my cats claw has been ripped out. I don't know how long it's been that way. It only seemed to bother him when I tried to trim his claws on that paw. What do I need to do?

I'd leave it be for now and keep an eye on the area. If the area becomes red, swollen, warm to the touch, or there's pus, then it's infected and Leon will need to see the vet. I'd bring him into the vet as well if it bothers him, which he would show you by grooming it frequently. Best of luck.
