My cat has diarrhea after a food change. What else can I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | 7 years and 6 months old

Hi my cat had diarrhoea yesterday in her litter tray. I also found little spots of it on her bed. She is drinking water still and I been giving her small amounts of boiled chicken. She is still playful. She has had a change of cat food recently? She still is eating dried food too. Is there anything else I need to do.

It sounds like you are on the right track for helping Henri feel a bit better at home. If her diarrhea continues I would recommend bringing a sample into your vet as a next step to check for common issues such as parasites that could cause GI upset. If she doesn't have any parasites, a more thorough exam to rule out issues such as food allergies, GI illnesses, etc may also help determine why she is having diarrhea.
