My dog ate balloons and vomited. Is he obstructed or did he pass them?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 70 lbs

At some point today, my dog ate an unknown # of large balloons. He threw up some food. He threw up again and some balloons were in it. How will I know if there’s an obstruction or if he eliminated them all? He seemed fine all day. Even after he vomited.

You will need to monitor him closely, if the vomiting continue or if he stops eating or becomes lethargic then it is likely he suffers from an obstruction and you will need to take him to the vet urgently.
