Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 6 years and 11 months old | 100 lbs
Hello! I’m visiting my grandmother and I noticed her dog’s eye is very swollen. It’s the actual cornea and not the skin around it. The pupil appears to be blue as well. She believes it might be a bee sting but the dogs has previously eaten bees and not had allergic reactions so I don’t think it might be that. He’s had his eye like this for about 2 weeks now and there has been no difference from when my grandmother first noticed his eye like this.

The red part is due to severe conjunctivitis causing the swelling. The blue in the eyeball is corneal edema. This is usually from a corneal injury. From the photo this is a severe injury and infection. He could lose his eye without treatment and this is probably very painful also. This needs treatment right away. They will examine the eye to make sure there isn’t something in it then prescribe medications to reduce the swelling and infection.
