Pet's info: Small Animal | Hamster | Female | 4 months and 10 days old | 0.165 lbs
I’m worried about my female syrain hamster, she’s about 14/15 weeks and has suddenly got a lot fatter and seems to have a lump on her stomach from the inside. She has just suddenly starting having diarrhoea and I don’t see her out her bed as much unless it’s for a drink, food or to pee. She’s happy to run about outside her cage and doesn’t seem to be in pain to me. It does look like she’s started loosing hair around her vaginal area which is also covered in poo and her cage smells different also

Thanks for reaching out about Biscuit. Intestinal parasites and/or bacteria are common causes of diarrhea in hamsters. Inappropriate diet, such as sugary foods (fruit) can aggravate the problem. Keeping her bottom clean of feces will help make her more comfortable, using a wet warm washcloth or baby wipe can be used. A veterinary examination is needed for a diagnosis and treatment. Good luck.
