My dog keeps throwing up food and bile but is still playful. Why?

Mini schnauzer, 3 yo, 10 lbs, has thrown up 4 times today. 1st was 4 AM and everything came up. 2nd was at 9 AM about 2 hrs after eating about 1/2 cup of food. Most everything came up but not all. About noon, gave her a 1/4 cup of cooked white rice mixed with small amount of chicken. About 2 hours later threw up a little of the rice with bile. At 5 PM, about 1/2 cup cooked rice and chicken. About 2 hrs later threw up mostly bile. She’s still active and not lethargic. Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | 3 years and 5 months old

It sounds as Zoee is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.
