Could my cats' and dog's vomiting and bloody diarrhea be related?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 1 month old

My cat has diaherra with mucus and blood in it sometimes plus vomiting.still drinking and eating sometimes normal and sometimes nibbles. Now my other cat is the same. And then 2 days later my other cat started. My dog had these symptoms about three weeks ago. Vomiting and mucus blood diarrhea only three days though he was under vet care for respiratory infection and on antibiotics. They all for some reason want to drink out of the same water bowl. Could this be related? Taking one cat to the vet

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Vomiting and diarrhea can occur secondary to conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, dietary indiscretion, parasites, among other possibilities. This could certainly be all related. I recommend that you have Jasper evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. At the very least they can start him on medications to make him feel better and check his hydration status. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. Good luck and have a good night!
