My dog ate a tiny bit of nuttela spread in a bread. Will he be ok? It was an accident he got it in her mouth but I immediately take it out. It really concerns me. What should I do to make her vomit?

Hi, I would not worry about Trixie having eaten a small amount of nutella on bread. There are no ingredients that are toxic to dogs in Nutella, so even if she had ingested a small piece of bread with some on it she would have been fine. Hope this helps ! The amount of chocolate in that small amount of nutella is not likely to have any toxic effects on your dog. He may have some GI upset if he has a sensitive stomach. Monitor for vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or (unexpected) hyper excitability, muscle tremors, racing heart, or seizures. If these symptoms occur, seek veterinary care.

He should be fine. At worst, you may see some minor stomach upset (vomiting or diarrhea). This can typically be managed at home with a short fast followed by a bland diet fed in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is concerning as it appears that Zeus is a small dog. However, how likely he is to develop a severe reaction depends on the exact amount of chocolate ingested which varies per package. The amount of chocolate would be in the bag and that information would be quite helpful in order to know how serious this can be. Having said that, it would be indicated to have Zeus evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible to check the amount of chocolate ingested but also to check Zeus for manifestations of chocolate toxicity and treat accordingly. Chocolate toxicity can result in gastrointestinal signs, heart issues and even neurological signs such as seizures. If this just happened, a veterinarian would be able to possibly induce vomiting to try to retrieve some of the chocolate. Good luck!
