Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 1 year old | 80 lbs
My dog has had diarrhea for 2 days, and he has been vomitting bile, he was left alone for an hour an he threw up stuffing from a toy and a rock about the size of my tumb. He has Had a couple bouts of bile throughout the night. He has diarrhea but not so much. drinking and eating fine, i put him on a bland diet as vet said. He had some little bits of chicken in stool. I have fasted him almost 24 hours from when he last ate. Could this be a blockage? What tests does he need? Should i give food now

Hello. If there has been no more vomiting for at least 12 hours, you can feed small amounts of plain cooked chicken with plain rice or low fat cottage cheese. You can give him 1 cup every few hours as long as he does not vomit. Continue this for another 24 hours & then try to transition back to his regular diet. If he continues to vomit &/or have severe diarrhea, you will need to contact your veterinarian for testing such as blood work & x-rays of his GI tract to see if this shows what the problem is. Hopefully he will be feeling better soon. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
