Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 17 lbs
my dog is coughing and trying to vomit out the mucus but the mucus won’t come out so he is probably feeling uncomfortable. what can i do for him? are there any home remedies? i am coughing as welll so could it be that he got it from me?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your dog. It sounds like he has an upper respiratory tract infection based on the symptoms you have described. He will need to see his veterinarian if the coughing persists. In the meantime, you can turn the shower to hot and close the bathroom door. Allow the steam to build up. Then place him in the bathroom to breathe the warm humid air. This can ease congestion. It is unlikely that he acquired the infection from you, but it is possible. I hope this information helps!
