My cat has been having very bad diarrhea for the past 48 hours and I believe I know the cause, but don’t know what to do about it. 2 nights ago I gave my cat canned food and after he ate a few bites I realized that the food was moldy (expiration date was 2020). The timing of diarrhea corresponds most with this. However, other causes could be that I changed his dry food two weeks ago (but only just now experiencing loose stool), and just started him on bravecto a few weeks ago. How can I help him

If the food was moldy, I suspect that may be the cause of Charlie's diarrhea. I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps him. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, he starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Best of luck, I hope this helps!
