There are several possible causes of diarrhea including parasites, viral or bacterial infection, food intolerance and stress. I would start by taking a sample of the stool to your veterinarian to have them check for parasites and prescribe appropriate medication. You may also consider feeding white rice and boiled chicken until the diarrhea has stopped, or adding fiber, which can be done by feeding a couple spoonfuls of canned pumpkin to the meals. Lastly, a probiotic or yogurt can add some healthy bacteria back to the system. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
