Why is my cat vomiting, not eating, and acting differently?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 21 days old

My cat isn’t eating or pooping from 20 hours. He did urinate though and is throwing up from last 3-4 days. I took him to a vet who said he is all fine but he doesn’t seem like it. His personality had changed totally and I cannot get him to another vet now. Is there a chance he maybe constipated? Please tell a home remedy or tell me any medicine that I should give him. I can’t get him to a vet. He is vomiting this.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Loss of appetite and vomiting can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I do not think that this is due to constipation. There is no home remedy to use without knowing what is going on. This sounds serious and I think Elvis should see a veterinarian. Since nothing has improved since seeing your veterinarian last time, I recommend that you have Elvis reevaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a great day! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
