Why is my cat peeing everywhere? Is it crystals or behavioral?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Turkish Angora | Male | neutered | 2 years and 10 months old | 10 lbs

My 2 yr old cat has urinated on my bed(most of the time)my daughters bed and the couch(once) probably 6-10 times over the last year and half. Tested positive for crystals 2 or 3 times, treated with antibiotics those times. We use Feliway diffuser and have tried Royal CanineSO(happened again) so switched to Hills Science Diet Urinary (but when he did it again, its the food sold at the store and not the prescription food). Could it be behavioral? Ot is it health related? How do we know?

He needs to be on the prescription diet. That’s the only food that will help with the crystals. Have his urine checked again to make sure he doesn’t need an antibiotic. Encourage as much water intake as possible. Wet food may help too. Fountain waterers as well. The food works so when he’s doing well do not take him off of it
