My dog's eyes look cloudy. Is it light reflection or cataracts?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labradoodle | Female | spayed | 82 lbs

I’m wondering if light reflecting off of my dog’s eyes cause similar cloudiness as cataracts or if I’m seeing the beginnings of cataracts?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! You are likely seeing the beginning of cataracts though it is not possible to know without an examination. If you are seeing these changes, it is important to have Lissie evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They could assess this more closely and determine if any therapies would be warranted at this point. Good luck and have a great day!
