Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Female | spayed | 9 years old | 70 lbs
My dog woke up this morning with a swollen and droopy lower eyelid. I can see white tissue where it droops that I suspect is her inner eyelid. There is no discharge, aside from limited watering, and it does not seem to itch or bother her. I am about to try a warm compress but am considering heading to the emergency vet soon. I also have some Neomycin Sulfate/Polymyxin B/Dexamethasone drops, but I don't want to complicate treatment if I need to being her in. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Thank you for contacting Pet Coach with your question about IIsie. I would take her into the ER vet today, any eye problem should be considered an emergency because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would not give her any drops. It may be the wrong treatment for her eye problem, and you are correct that you don't want to complicate treatment or accidentally harm her. Having her seen by an ER vet is best, and they can prescribe the correct treatment. Best of luck with her, she is simply lovely! I had a female Golden Retriever that I lost to cancer two years ago, and she was seriously the best dog I ever owned. I hope this helps!
