Nashville got her annual shots Thursday evening - rabies, DHPP, and bortadella oral. Friday night, she started to have diarrhea and had to go 3x overnight (super unusual for her). All of her stool Saturday (3-4) have been diarrhea. She is not on new food, has not gotten into anything we know of, and generally seems fine otherwise (she did a 4.5 mile hike Saturday with no issue). Could the diarrhea be from the vaccines? How long should we expect it to last? Should we be alarmed?

A side effect of vaccines can be diarrhea, and that can last for a couple of days. I can give you a home remedy to try for Nashville to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. Best of luck, I hope this helps!
