Kitten's mouth bled, voice hoarse after getting stuck. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 9 months and 22 days old

I have a 10 week old kitten. She got her head stuck in my daughters shelf and when we got her out we noticed blood stains around her mouth. They blood has stopped now but when we pick her up her voice is real hoarse. If she might have scratched her mouth or anything, what could possibly be the treatment?

It really depends on how severe the damage is. If it is simply a case of some swelling the treatment may simply be to let her rest. However if she seems painful or is acting strangely then she would need to go to the vet as and possibly get an anti-inflammatory mefucation. They may need to do investigations also. Don't give her any at home painkillers as many are toxic to cats.
