My puppy's eye is swollen. Could it be cherry eye or blindness?

Hey I recently was gifted a French bulldog Pitbull mix it is still young only a few months old but I noticed it has a swollen right eye I was wondering if it could be cherry eye which is common in those does or could it be blindness? What do you think it could be

Oh dear! I agree that his right eye looks quite enlarged compared to the left. This does not look like a cherry eye (proptosed tear gland), as this usually appears as a localized pink swelling in the inner corner of the eye. This looks more like the eye globe itself is swollen or enlarged for some reason. I can't say what might be causing this without being able to do a full ophthalmic exam, but some possible causes would include acute glaucoma, a birth defect, or some type of trauma to the eye or surrounding issues. I would recommend having this checked by a veterinarian as soon as possible to determine what's wrong with the eye and see if it can be treated.
