Why is my dog in severe pain and struggling to walk after vaccines?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 9 months old | 166 lbs

My dog just got three vaccines today around 2. At about 4 I noticed that he was having trouble me walking and he just looked like he was in a lot of pain. Is this normal having getting vaccines?

While a dog can have some pain after getting vaccines, it shouldn't be so severe that they are having trouble walking. This could be an abnormal reaction to the vaccines, and I would take Harley into a vet immediately to get checked out. Best of luck.

Your pups are most likely sore from the vaccines. If they are not walking at all, this is abnormal and they should be rechecked by your vet as soon as possible. If they are just sore and a little lethargic give them about 48 hours and they should go back to normal. If not, then you will want to recheck with your veterinarian. I hope this helps.
