Why is my dog still vomiting and sick after months of vet visits?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 2 months old | 66 lbs

My dog has been sick for months, throws her food up and throws up yellow foam. She has had blood in her stool on one occasion. She has had blood tests which came back fine, she has had her stool tested which was also fine. She is sick on anything she eats, her normal biscuit dog food, chicken and rice and now she has vets wet food. She has tablets and medicine, she has had anti sickness injections and now she has some granules encase its a parasite that doesn't show on bloods. She is still sick

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Jager! It would be very helpful to know how old she is. I would worry about pancreatic insufficiency in a Shepherd, a foreign body that is stuck, cancer or inflammatory bowel disease or a pyometra (infected uterus since not spayed). She needs an abdominal ultrasound with a specialist. It is time to go the next level and see an internal medicine specialist. She may ultimately need to have her belly explored to see what is going on. Months is a long time to not hold down food and is very serious. I would assume she is wasting away. I am very sorry Jager is so sick. I wish you the best
