Why is my 5-month-old puppy losing hair on his hind legs?

Hi - one of my neighbors dog(Labrador retriever) aged 5 months old seems to be having bald spots in his hind leg. He is very active and eats well, but sheds hair predominantly near his hind legs. On a general note, vaccinations and deworming are up to date. Thanks for your advice.

Hi there. Bald spots can be due to various things. Most common causes in puppies are demodex mites, ringworm and allergies. He will need to have his skin tested for these causes to determine what is going on. Once a diagnosis is made, these can all be easily treated. I hope that helps.
