Hello, I have a pup who was diagnosed with parvo-virus on Friday and he’s been on outpatient care. He went to the Vet at 8AM, received vomiting and diarrhea meds and fluid and I took him home. He did not puke or have diarrhea the entire day. He was lively, eating well, and sometimes he would drink a little water himself. At about 5:30AM of today, he started to puke but it was only once and only contained the white foam. He also had another episode of diarrhea (but still lively) Is this alarming?

Poor Caesar, Typically with parvo the virus will take 3-7 days to work its course just like the Flu virus in people. The vomiting and diarrhea is concerning because it can lead to dehydration in young dogs who are not taking in much food or water. However, it is not uncommon for parvo patients to vomit or have diarrhea for a few days. I would recommend contacting your vet about possibly getting another round of fluids under the skin and vomiting medication to continue to give Caesar supportive care. hope he makes a speedy recovery.
