My dog Zeus has had a bout with arthritis. I have given him an aspiring a day for a week. I think it has upset his stomach. Last night around 2am and the same time tonight he threw up partially digested food. I did not give him aspirin today. Could the aspirin be the problem? He is still his old self, has a good appetite, drinking plenty of water and urinating fine,he had a bowel movement today and his gums have color

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Zeus! Yes, aspirin is very hard on the dog stomach, that is why we do not recommend human pain medications in dogs. I would highly recommend stopping the medication and having him seen for his pain by your Vet. They can prescribe safer more tolerated non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications for arthritis. Also we tend to add in glucosamine/chondroitins like Dasuquin or Cosequin for arthritis as well. I wish you and Zeus the best!
