Why is my dog's poop orange/pink? Could it be food or recent meds?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 5 months old | 44 lbs

My dog had a half orange/half pink tinged stool. This is the first time. It was solid. He is completely fine in himself. No other symptoms. He has been recently treated for a urine infection and worms ( Rescued 1 month ago) treatment finished 2 weeks ago (due another wormer in 2 weeks) He had pasta with coloured pieces ( some green/some pink) a small amount both yesterday and the day before. Otherwise no changes in diet. His stool is usually an orangey brown colour also and often quite loose

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Felix. If the stool was solid, the color change is not as worrisome. If, however, you notice blood present, then he will need to see his veterinarian again. The stool is likely colored from something that he ate recently. If the stool is consistently loose or watery, then he should also see his veterinarian. I hope this information helps!
