Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 1 year old | 3 lbs

Hi my dogs front left leg he's limping on it. I've watched him walk on it and put weight on it, ive examined it and he didn't yelp in pain or pull away its not swollen nothing abnormal. He's walking, running acting his normal self but keeps limping or keeps it bent and cuffed to his chest so he's on 3 legs. What should i do?

I recommend a veterinary exam soon. If you decide to wait please let him rest so it can heal. He may have neck pain that is radiating down the leg which may cause those symptoms. There is no safe over the counter pain medication for such a small dog so if the lameness continues for another few days then please take him in for an exam and treatment. He could have injured his toe, or have a strain. They can then give you pain medication if he needs it. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for JoJo.
