Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My puppy won’t eat and he has been puking all day. He’s been wormed & has had his first set of shots already

Hello. One set of vaccinations is not protective against any diseases. It is only after a puppy has received the entire series can we relax. I would strongly recommend calling your vet because a young puppy can become severely dehydrated very quickly with this much vomiting. I hope you can have him seen soon & thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Unfortunately this is very concerning. Even though your puppy has had one round of vaccinations already, this is not enough to protect him from a parvovirus infection. Lethargy, not eating and frequent vomiting are typical signs of a severe gastrointestinal infection and could also be a parvo infection. Please take your puppy to a veterinarian now, as this could be life threatening.
