My roommate decided to cut my shitsu dew claw and he struggles and it ended up taking the entire dew claw off. He is bleeding a lot. But we rinsed it sprayed hydrogen peroxide and we are holding it with a towel that’s covered in hydrogen peroxide and wound cream. . Will he be okay? The whole dew claw is gone and bloody. He only growls when we try to touch his foot again.

keep your dog calm as you try to stop the bleeding apply pressure on the area You may need someone to help hold your dog as you work. Place direct pressure on the bleeding nail. Gently press the cloth against the nail for about 5 minutes. If the nail is still bleeding, try compressing for another 2 minutes. Be patient, even set a timer, and check for bleeding only once the timer show. If after 30 minutes, you can’t get your dog’s nail to stop bleeding, you will want to consult your vet or take them in for a visit.
