My kitten has eye discharge & is squinting. Can I use eyedrops?

My kitten is having a hard time opening her eye. She has some discharge from it and is squinting. Are there eyedrops or anything I can do to help relieve the irritation? Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed
