Why is my young kitten chewing everything? Is she teething or hungry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

The kitten I rescued has to be no older than two weeks, the eyes were already opened when we found her, we feed her formula every 2-4 hours depending on how long she sleeps. But the past couple days she seems to be fighting sleep. She just started chewing on the nipple of the bottle and fingers and whatever she can find to chew on. I don’t know when they start teething but how can I make it more comfortable for her where she’s not so restless? She is also an orphan kitten

If Angel's eyes are open she is about 3 weeks of age. If she is chewing the bottle I would start to introduce wet food. I would mix the kitten milk replacer with wet kitten food and put it in a bowl for her and she is she will start to take it. She may just start to need food on top of the milk. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. She is adorable!!
