How to stop my unspayed cat from peeing on carpet after kittens?

hi, i have a female demostic cat bread and also her kitten that is a female. she has always been good with her litter but since she gave birth, her and her kittens started peeing everywhere until they learned and now most kittens are gone to new families, i have started teaching my cats to pee in the main toiler and i keep taking her there to know and she does pee in it sometimes but also pees on carpet and her kitten now does the same and no matter what i cant fix it and also she's not desexed

Thank you for using PetCoach. Desexing or spaying both females may help with this problem drastically. Sometimes inappropriate elimination can be due to hormonal influences. Also, be sure that there are at least 3 litter boxes available for 2 cats. Clean the boxes at least once daily. Be sure to use enzymatic cleaners for pet urine on the floors where they have urinated, they will continue to mark there if they can smell it. in some cases, you may need to rip up the area to replace the carpet and any padding under it. In some cases, urinary tract infections may cause this problem to start, so I would recommend a vet visit for the Mom cat in case this is why it started, her kitten is likely just following her example.
