Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 12 lbs
I have a one eyed blind cat who developed a protrusion in his eye socket. He does have watery discharge occasionally but never this type of of growth. I have a vet appointment scheduled but wanted to be prepared for the worst. Based on the picture (understand you can not diagnose solely by picture) would this be a sign of conjunctivitis, a tumor, or something even more serious? Would it be better to go directly to an opthamologist?

Hi. This is a pretty severe lesion. I would recommend going straight to opthomologist. It is hard to say the cause for sure based on this photo unfortunately. It could be an injury, an infection, a rupture, or many other possibilities. Great question. It does look like a specialist should get involved right away.
