My dog got ear cleaner in his eye. Is rinsing enough to prevent harm?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Belgian Malinois | Male | neutered | 1 year and 10 months old

Hello, I was cleaning my dogs ears with cleanaural and he moved and some dropped in his eye, I have rinsed his eye with water thoroughly and he doesn’t seem too distressed, could this be harmful to his eye or will rinsing the eye get rid of it? Thank you

As you rinsed his eye thoroughly there should be no residue from the eye cleaner in his eye and all should be well. Should you notice that he squints that eye, or that there is a discharge or that there is reddening, I suggest to take Marcus to a veterinarian for an exam.
