Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 5 years and 1 month old | 11 lbs
Hello? My cat is 5 years old. He is domesticated short hair tabby. I’ve had him since he was 3 months old. He has always thrown up after eating food for about 3 years now. He only drinks water. I have tried various types of food gradually and nothing helps. This is both dry, wet and dry and wet mixed. Is there something I can do about this? Special affordable food I can buy.? This happens at least 3 or 4 times weekly. Thanks! -Angela

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Simba! I agree that 3-4 times per week of vomiting is way too much. I would actually recommend a prescription novel protein diet or hydrolyzed diet. Hill's Science diet, Royal Canin and Purina all make these diets and most Vet hospitals carry some or can order you specific proteins. The most common reason for that much vomiting in a young otherwise healthy cat is a food allergy or inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It is usually the meat protein that is the most common allergen. I hope this helps!
