My cat has a lip bump, but no symptoms. Is it urgent to see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Female | spayed

My cat recently has developed some kind of infection (it seems) in her lip. It doesn't bother her and she doesn't present any synptoms at all. I just want to know if it seems urgent because there aren't open vets here until monday.

This could be a so-called rodent ulcer, i.e. eosinophilic granuloma. Here is information on this type of lesion: https://www.petcoach.co/article/eosinophilic-disease-in-cats/ This could also be an injury or infection. It does not look like an emergency, so you can wait until Monday to take Rodi to the veterinarian. In the meantime take away all plastic food and water bowls and use ceramic dishes, as plastic can aggravate the condition.
