My puppy sleeps a lot and seems hungry. What food should I give him?

My puppy became too lazy ..always try to sleep and i feel not having enough food..please tell me what should i give him to eat..and what to do?

Oreo is very cute! He needs to be eating a puppy formulated food, as puppies need higher amounts of protein, calories, and calcium than adult dogs. Brands I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. Puppies do tend to sleep a lot because they are growing quite quickly in a relatively short period of time. A puppy can sleep up to 18-19 hours a day. If Oreo is sleeping this much, it's not that he's being lazy, it's normal. To be safe, I'd recommend a visit with the vet for a health check just to make sure everything is ok. I hope this helps!

Great question! At almost two months of age, Ooge is old enough to be fed a puppy formulated food. It has to be a puppy formulated food because puppies require higher amounts of protein, calcium, and calories than an adult dog. A puppy food will provide everything he needs to grow properly. Brands I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. On the bag, there is a daily recommended amount of food, and I would divide that into three equal portions to feed him three times a day, once in the morning, noon, and evening. Once he turns six months old, he can be fed twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. I hope this helps :-)

My Labrador now 44 days old his weight is around 1.5 kg. We bought him when he was 35 days old. We gave him “ nutre-lac puppy cereal” 2 spoon in water with 1 spoon curd 3 time in a day. Now he stop eating food even sometime he can’t balance himself
Simba is underweight for his age and breed. This puppy cereal and curd are not a balanced diet for a puppy, and it will not give him the nutrients he needs to grow properly. In addition, the lack of nutrients will lead him to be weak. He needs to be on a puppy formulated dry food only. Brands I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. Please go out and buy him some puppy food now. I would also take him into a vet right away. I'm quite concerned about his weight, the fact that he won't eat food, and that he's sleeping all the time. He needs veterinary care right away. Best of luck.

I don't recommend giving puppies human food, many of them are toxic to dogs and aren't healthy to give to them. It's extremely hard to get a balanced diet correct at home, and it's vital that Oreo has a balanced diet because he's a growing puppy. That is why I strongly recommend feeding him a puppy formulated food. Brands I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. You can start with potty training now, but keep in mind it can take months and requires patience. You can also start other training, but keep the sessions short, like 10-15 minutes at a time, because he doesn't have a long attention span at this age. I hope this helps!

I just got a new puppy, and she won't eat, and sleeps all day. What should I do?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is not unusual for puppies to sleep for a very large portion of the day. In terms of the appetite, this is sometimes not uncommon in puppies when they are in their new environment. I recommend that you continue to monitor him for now, especially if you just got him. If these symptoms of not eating well and sleeping a large portion of the day do not improve, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment. Hopefully this is all transient and he will be back to normal soon. Good luck!

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! They really sleep for the vast majority of the day. It is not unusual for puppies to not eat great as they get used to eating solid food. I would recommend you try different kinds of both kibble and canned food. If there is no improvement and he continues to not eat, I would recommend you consider having him evaluated by a veterinarian for that purpose and also to possibly establish care with a veterinarian for recommendations on preventative and early life care. My pet bite our hand ...or whatever he finds so how can i train him to not to bite...nd he is too lazy about 80% of day he spend to sleepling....how caN i make him active...
Hello and welcome to Boop by Petco. Puppies often bite because they are teething, so you have to allow them to chew and train them to chew appropriate things. One tactic is to yell 'ouch' loudly whenever he bites your hand, and replace your hand with something that is OK to chew on. We often find it 'cute' when puppies mouth our hands, and this trains them it is OK to bite, so you have to stop that and never let them mouth your hand even if it isn't hurting. Also, puppies do spend a lot of time sleeping. This is normal, as long as he is energetic and playful when he is awake, then just let him sleep. Puppies need lots of sleep. Best of luck with Oreo!

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! If Oreo is weak, he needs to see a vet to find out why. I recommend taking a fresh stool sample to the vet to check for parasites and parvovirus. I would not recommend apple juice but Pedialyte (not grape) is ok for fluids. He can have canned puppy food too as long as he has teeth. You can mix the formula with the canned food but he shouldn't need it at his age. Good luck and kisses to Oreo!

Puppies generally sleep a lot, most days between 14-18 hours, this is quite normal but if you see other symptoms such as lethargy or lack of appetite then something might be wrong with Aira, in that case you should take her to the vet for a checkup.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Pingo is very adorable! At 6 weeks of age, Pingo is still very young. It is normal to play for short periods and sleep a lot. Just like a human baby. Also Pingo is a small breed dog and her stomach is small. I would be sure to feed her small amount every 6-8 hours until she is 12 weeks old. The volume will be small due to her size. If you are still worried about how much she is eating then repost with the total daily volume she is eating in cups. I hope this helps and I wish you and Pngo the best!

Hi there and thanks for posting on Boop by Petco! Yes, sleeping frequently during the day is not uncommon for puppies less than 8 weeks old. Puppies need a lot of sleep just like human babies do and will change as Sugar gets older. As long as Sugar is normal otherwise (is eating and drinking normally, has normal stool and urine, etc), I wouldn't worry too much. I hope this helps!
