My cat isn't drinking water since starting wet food. Is that normal?

My cat has recently sustained an injury to the soft tissue on her stomach. The vet has stitched her up and she’s taking antibiotics twice a day. I’ve switched to wet cat food (she usually has dry) because it’s easier to get her to eat her medication. However, since we switched, she hasn’t really drunk any water (3-4 days). Is this a worry? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 5 years and 9 months old | 8.8 lbs

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Ada! If she is eating I wouldn't worry! There is much more moisture in canned food than dry. It is very common to see a drop in water intake when cats are on an all canned food diet. If you are still worried add some water to the canned food. Do so a little at a time as to not make it too soupy and her not like it. I hope this helps and I wish Ada a speedy recovery!
