My puppy is almost four months. Can he get his rabies shot now?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 4 days old | 18 lbs

My dog will be four months on 4/9 but has an appointment on 3/31 & is supposed to get his next round of shots. I want him to get the rabies shot but he has to be four months. Will that week & change make a difference or just wait until 4/15?

A puppy may receive a Rabies vaccine any time after 12 weeks of age. He should be able to get it at the next appointment unless there are other circumstances (prior vaccine reaction, availability, # of vaccines being given).
