Dog skin infection: Why does clindamycin cause gas and dark stool?

clindamycin and augmentin pills are same? Can these both treat bacterial infection of skin ? Actually my dog a yr ago had bacterial infection and vet prescribed augmentin with terbinafine while running course he was all fine and he again had bacterial infection and this time vet prescribed clindamycin with terbinafine but this time while doing course on second day onwards he started to feel having gas and potty Color also went dark black brownish as soon i stop potty Color got ok

Both antibiotics are great! Clindamycin is a little tougher on the gastrointestinal tract so that is probably why you are seeing those changes in Bruno's stool. I would let your veterinarian know so they can change the medication to help with Bruno's skin. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
