Hi there! Thanks for letting us take care of you today! When there is evidence of blood in the vomit, that raises concern for things like a gastrointestinal ulcer, gastrointestinal tumor, severe gastroenteritis, foreign body ingestion, among other possibilities. This could be vomiting with irritation causing the bleeding and vomiting could be caused by pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, parasites, among other possibilities. Some tests that are usually run include bloodwork (CBC and chemistry panel +/- coagulation profile) and abdominal ultrasound. Thoracic/cervical radiographs may follow. Further diagnostics will be based on the findings up to that point. Treatment will be based on findings. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything will be fine with Danny!

Poor Akira! I am concerned that she is throwing up some blood, which is not normal. She could have GI ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease, viral disease, and many other conditions. Given that she is running around and playing, it would be fine to wait to take her to the vet in the morning for an exam, as vomiting blood can have very serious causes. But she should be seen by a vet first thing in the morning. If she continues to vomit blood tonight, or she develops other symptoms such as extreme lethargy, I would take her into a vet right away.
