My puppy hit his head and has a nosebleed. Should I go to the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shorthaired Pointer | Male | unneutered | 10 months and 26 days old | 60 lbs

Our 10 month old ran into a tree at full speed. I didn’t see the impact but heard it and he seemed to have hit his head. He didn’t lose consciousness but was definitely out of it for about 30 seconds and then he went slowly back to normal. He has a very slow nose bleed. And no other symptoms that I can see. Eyes seem normal and he doesn’t seem tender to the touch anywhere. Breathing is normal.

Bleeding from the nose is a sig of head trauma, and I would recommend having Bear seen by a vet now to be safe. You want to make sure everything is ok, and not wait in case a serious problem develops later. I would take him into a vet now to have him examined. Best of luck.
