Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 3 years and 3 months old | 11 lbs
Hello. My 3 year old cat is having diarrhea. She’s had it since yesterday. She’s eating normally and drinking water but she still has diarrhea. She was going in the litter box but now she’s having diarrhea on the floor. She also is scooting and licking her butt (she has a history of anal gland issues). Should I wait it out or take her to a vet? Also should I hold food or keep feeding her? She is on a mix of high fiber Purina dry food and fancy feast wet food.

I would suggest to change her diet at this stage and start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken/white fish and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. This diarrhea could be caused by a gastrointestinal infection and in that case signs will persist despite dietary change and antibiotics will be required.
