My senior cat eats little, has a broken tooth. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 15 years and 3 months old

my 15 year cat is eating very little. she also has 1 broken front tooth. i have been feeding her kitten wet food or kitten mousse. is this ok for her? she is gaining weight slightly as she sleeps most of the time. thanks

Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. This could also be due to mouth pain from having a broken tooth. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a great day! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
