Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 17 days old | 50 lbs
I took my dog to a local dam about 3 days ago and he has had diarrhea ever since. I've never had this problem with my previous dog. He is still very active and has a good appetite.

Poor guy. Since it has been more than 24-48 hrs with this problem, I would suggest taking Scout to your local vet to have his stool tested for intestinal parasites. He may have picked up something from the local dam, which often causes loose stool but otherwise a normal acting dog. The vet can prescribe the appropriate dewormer and/or antibiotic to clear things up if he comes up positive. Until he can get seen you can give him an over the counter probiotic such as Culturelle and 1-2 tsp of canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) in his food daily to help solidify his stools somewhat. You also can try a local dewormer, if available in your area, to see if this resolves the loose stools. I hope that Scout's stools clear up soon! Best wishes and take care!
