My male cat was just neutered, why is there blood in his urine?

My male 1 yr. old cat was just neutered and he has pee in his blood.

I would recommend that you call the vet that performed the surgery. A small amount of blood noticed in the urine could be normal, but he would need to be examined by a vet to rule out possible concerning causes such as bleeding after surgery, hematoma, self-mutilation (don't allow him to lick at all!), urinary tract infection or stones, bleeding disorder, etc.

    Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Even small amount of blood (as on the photo you posted) in the urine is not normal. It could be caused by trauma to the bladder, bladder infection or stress. If Nico passes more blood when he goes to pee next time, you should take him back to your vets. He may need a short course of antibiotics or anti-inflammatory medication to get back to normal.
