My puppy has a sudden red lump under his leg. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 12 days old | 34 lbs

My 4 month old Chocolate Labrador Mix has a irritated red lump under his front left leg that appeared out of nowhere. i know for sure it wasn’t there as of this morning then we me and my fiancé got home it was just there.

This is probably an allergic reaction due to an insect bite or a plant outside. those reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling becomes too large or if your dog is lethargic, take him to the vet in order to get an antihistamine injection.

You may continue to monitor him for now. However, if this worsens or just does not resolve, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment as other things like an infection cannot be ruled out. Good luck and have a good night!
